Rigid & Folding Cartons

Magnetic closure, lid-and-base, drawer and straight-tuck styles, with custom fitments.

What this covers

The carton is usually the first thing a customer touches, and the last thing that decides whether the product feels worth what they paid. This category covers everything built from board — from a plain straight-tuck carton to a heavy magnetic gift box with a moulded insert.

Structures

We hold a library of standard structures and cut a new dieline when none of them fit. Common starting points:

  • Magnetic closure — rigid board, wrapped, with concealed magnets and often a ribbon pull.
  • Lid and base — the classic two-piece; economical in medium volumes, very solid.
  • Drawer / slide-out — two-part with a sliding tray; popular for gift sets and advent calendars.
  • Straight-tuck and reverse-tuck — folding cartons, shipped flat, lowest freight per unit.
  • Book-style and flip-top — hinged like a book, good for multi-item kits.

Fitments and inserts

The insert is where most rigid box projects are won or lost. Options include die-cut paper or board platforms, EVA foam, moulded pulp and thermoformed trays. Send us the product dimensions and we will propose a fitment that holds it without rattling and still comes out easily.

Sampling

Rigid boxes are built by wrapping printed paper around cut board, so the colour of a wrapped panel never matches a flat-printed carton exactly. If your set includes both, we will print them together and compare the printed sample against both before mass production.
